Royalty Studio serves as an excellent example of how modern timber construction can revitalise existing buildings while maintaining their original character. This lightweight timber addition increases the building's floor area by 40% and embodies the Dutch concept of "Optoppen," which involves topping buildings with timber to enhance it’s density.
With improved waterproofing and structural upgrades using the Spider connections supplied by Rothoblaas, the design reduces the need for columns, allowing for open and flexible spaces. This transformation paves the way for Royalty Studio's next chapter as a dynamic and versatile creative hub.
